I’ve found a
rhythm which
helps me with
poetry
also en
hances the
vast world I
know and see:
*
I hold the
hands of my
friends and my
family
lifted by
music and
kind loving
company;
*
We travel
one two three
through life’s di
versity
dancing with
gusto through
fear and ad
versity.
*
Some of you
might like to
dance in my
footsteps the
waltz is such
fun and it’s
perfectly
free!
Inspired by Matthew Pullar’s post below. Take a look:
This is so much fun. I used to write waltz poems a lot, and by that I mean I put three syllables in each line. I think you did a great job with the rhythm here.
Thanks Brice – I love to play 🙂
Me again. Again WordPress is playing me for a sucker, so writersblogq, or nobodysreadingme, are the names by which you know me better.
I struggled with this at first, I did. I’m still a newcomer to the world of poetry, so cut me some slack
Then I got it. I read it with the correct cadences, and it worked.
I’ll get better, I really will. In the meantime, expect me to make a complete idiot of myself.
I’ll get there. I’m just having to adjust the way I read, and at my age that’s not easy, but so far it’s being a rewarding experience
Hi nobodysreadingme. I’m glad you persevered. I have done a lot of dancing in my time, so the waltz beat is a friend to me. It has pushing power – is relentless, but pretty. One of the other poets I read on here is J Matthew Waters at http://jdubqca.com/. He has a great reading voice and posts up voice recordings of his poems. Maybe take a listen. We all have different ways of using our senses, but I think they can be stretched to make things richer for us. I’ll be back later to visit your pages.
There’s a lovely lightness to this poem. Nice work.
Isn’t meter great?! So it your poem!
